The ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2020 takes place from 12 – 16/01/2020 in Brunei – the largest event within the framework of ASEAN tourism cooperation. Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism together with the remaining two provinces was honored with the title of “ASEAN Clean Tourism City 2020-2022”. It is known that in the period of 2018-2020, Hue also received this honourable title with Hoi An and Da Lat.

This is a great award for ASEAN members held annually to honor tourism destinations, tourism products, and tourism services. Thereby contributing to promoting the development of tourism in the ASEAN region.

Besides that, there are other awards such as ASEAN Green Hotel Award, ASEAN MICE Facility Award, ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Award (ASTA). The award of ASEAN Clean Tourism City Award is the highest rating of ASEAN to honor and develop the brand of the city, the locality with tourism and high quality of service in ASEAN.

The criteria set out in the ASEAN Clean Tourism City Award must  make sure of 7 following criterias: managing common environment, clean streets, sanitation; good management of waste and wastewater; authorities and communities have a sense of environmental protection and street sanitation; lots of green space; have good conditions to ensure health safety, urban security for tourists; infrastructure and facilities for tourism suitable and meet the standards …
